Likewise 4.1 Release Notes HP-UX 11iv1, 11iv2 and 11iv3 ---------------------------- On HP-UX 11iv1 several patches are required: PHCO_36229, PHSS_35381, PHKL_34805, PHCO_31923, PHCO_31903 and PHKL_29243 These patches may have been superceded by subsequent patches, but this is the minimum patch level for proper operation. For all platforms it is recommended that a recent version of HP's Secure Shell be installed. We have performed extensive testing with HP-UX Secure Shell A.04.70.009, A.04.70.010, and A.04.70.011. Information on Secure Shell can be downloaded directly from HP's web site at http://www.docs.hp.com/en/internet.html#Secure%20Shell. The versions of sudo typically available from the HP-UX Porting Centers do not have PAM (Pluggable Authentication Module) support. This support is required for enabling domain users to use sudo to execute specified programs with super user credentials. It is a fairly simple process to build sudo from its sources, using the pre-built gcc compilers and other modules available for download from the Porting Centers. Make sure that the configuration option --with-pam is specified when configuring sudo prior to building it. After installing Likewise Identity on HP-UX 11.11 systems, password changes for local users while joined to a domain need to be done by: passwd -r files or passwd -r files username Optionally, one can leave the domain and use the passwd program normally for local users. The problem is caused by the libpam_unix.1 module and the passwd program in this version of HP-UX. Note that the passwd program works fine for domain users. -------------------------------- Copyright Likewise Software 2008
