Likewise Identity 3.5 offers best-in-class integration with Microsoft’s Group Policy Management Console and Group Policy Object Editor—tools that assist with managing group policies. Among the over 50 new policies in Likewise Identity 3.5 are the ability to apply security settings to lock down user profiles and manage system configuration. In addition, network administrators now have full group policy reporting capabilities for their Linux, UNIX and Macintosh systems — previously available only to Windows systems. Likewise Identity also allows administrators to implement platform-specific policies.
Likewise Identity 3.5 now supports over 100 platforms, including Mac OS X, HP-UX, SUSE Linux, Red Hat, Fedora, CentOS, Debian, Solaris, AIX, Ubuntu, and variants from each vendor. Support for these platforms improves efficiencies by allowing IT personnel to more easily integrate new platforms into mixed environments.
